Human Remains Found In Northwestern N.B.

Mounties are investigating the discovery of human remains in northwestern New Brunswick.

Police were called to a small wooded area off Laforge Road in Saint-André on Saturday afternoon.

“At this time, we have not been able to positively identify the remains,” Sgt. Jean-Pierre Bouchard said in a news release on Tuesday.

Bouchard said a forensic examination of the bones will be conducted, adding the force will share more information as it becomes available.

Members of the New Brunswick RCMP’s Major Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Services, RCMP Police Dog Services and a forensic anthropologist attended the scene.

They were joined by more than a dozen additional RCMP members who helped search the area.
