Man Killed In ATV Crash In McAdam

A collision involving two all-terrain vehicles in McAdam has claimed the life of a 61-year-old man.

RCMP say the collision happened on a service trail adjacent to the railway near Saunders Road around 1:20 p.m. Saturday.

“The collision is believed to have occurred when the first ATV, travelling parallel to the train tracks, would have been struck by a second ATV, travelling on an intersecting trail,” police said in a news release on Sunday. “The first ATV is believed to have rolled over as a result of the collision.”

One of the ATV drivers, a 61-year-old man from McAdam, died at the scene. The other ATV driver was taken to the hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

Police are still investigating the cause of the collision.
