Agreement Reached For Loomis Express Workers

Loomis Express workers reached a tentative deal with the company, just hours before a strike deadline.

Strike notice was given this week. Workers were poised to walk off the job at 12:01 am this morning if the two sides couldn’t come to an agreement.

This covers hourly drivers, owner-operators, call centre staff, clerical, and warehouse workers in eight provinces, British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island.

These members of Unifor have been without a contract since March.

Ratification votes will be scheduled in the coming days. Details will not be made public until a vote.
