E/R Reserved For Urgent Care Only – Vitalité

Vitalité Health Network is asking everyone to avoid the emergency department of its hospitals – including the Dumont Hospital – for non-urgent health care problems.

The health authority says it continues to face ongoing shortages of medical and nursing staff in emergency rooms and it should be reserved for urgent care only.

Anyone with non-urgent needs is asked to use Tele-Care 811, speak to a pharmacist, make an appointment with a family doctor if possible or go to evisitnb.ca for a virtual appointment.

Vitalité adds those who arrive at the emergency department for non-urgent reasons, could be asked to return at a later time or face a long wait.
