The federal government is providing funds to help bring tourism back to Pointe-du-Chêne.
A non-repayable investment of $100,000 was announced Tuesday through the Tourism Relief Fund for Ocean Surf Limited.
Executive Director for Ocean Surf Ltd. Sophie Belliveau-Doiron, “For over 50 years, our family has rejoiced in greeting RV travelers from all over Canada and the world. The Tourism Relief Fund has given us the much-needed boost to continue to offer exceptional service and amenities by modernizing, upgrading, and creating new visitor experiences. As we move past the challenging times of the last two years, we look forward to continuing to be a destination of choice for guests travelling with any size of RV on market for many years to come.”
Money will be used for repairs to the main access road at the campground, the addition of wireless connections, and the construction of a new pavilion and multi-sport surface area.
“As we recover from this pandemic, we are focused on being there for the tourism sector. With the support announced today, Ocean Surf campground will be able to prepare for the future and attract new clients. This is an important step in the recovery effort that will allow visitors to discover the world-class tourism experiences Atlantic Canada has to offer,” says the Minister of Official Languages and for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency.
