Federal Funding Announced For PatioFest ’22 In Downtown Moncton

A federal funding boost to help everyone return to Moncton’s downtown.

$93,500 is being invested to launch PatioFest ’22.

MP for Moncton Riverview Dieppe and Minister Responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency Ginette Petitpas Taylor made the funding announcement this week to Downtown Moncton Centreville Inc.

“Our main streets, downtown, and neighborhoods are at the heart of our vibrant rural and urban communities here in Atlantic Canada. This innovative initiative will help breathe new life in our communities – big and small – and encourage residents and visitors to come out and enjoy everything Moncton has to offer,” Petitpas Taylor says.

The Rediscover Main Streets initiative helps non-profit organizations team up to create new activities, develop marketing initiatives and promote events, all of which encourage residents and visitors alike to rediscover what the region’s communities have to offer and drive more support for local businesses.

After two difficult years, this initiative will help reanimate Moncton’s Main Street, bringing economic benefits to local businesses.

It will bring live music to Main Street patios on Thursday evenings and encourage the public to rediscover downtown Moncton, which will in turn bring economic benefits to local businesses.

“Downtown Moncton Centre-Ville Inc., with support from the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency, is very proud to present PatioFest ’22 this summer! Our downtown merchants, along with most Canadians have had a tough two years and, as restrictions ease this summer, we believe that this is an opportunity to bounce back. We want to encourage residents of Greater Moncton and tourists alike to come back downtown and enjoy all the great spots our downtown has to offer,” Executive Director for Downtown Moncton centre-Ville Inc Patrick Richard says.
