Life In Prison for Death Of Pont-Landry Woman

A 55-year-old man will spend life behind bars for the death of a 49-year-old woman in northern New Brunswick.

Daniel Jean was sentenced last week for the second-degree murder of Monique Gallien.

Her body was found next to a vehicle on Chemin W. Gautreau in Pont-Landry in February last year, and it was determined she was the victim of a homicide.

Jean pleaded guilty in May of 2022.

He will not be eligible for parole for 11 years.
