High school students are raising money for the neonatal intensive care unit at the Moncton Hospital.
Student Council member Cassidy Thibodeau says this is a cause close to her heart, “I was a premature baby. I was born two weeks before I was due. I actually spent almost a month in the neonatal unit and I’m so happy with the contributions Trimble has made that helped save my life and the lives of many other Trojans and other students in our community.”
Over the last 40 years, they have raised over $300,000 during their Trojan trek.
In the past, students have gone door to door collecting donations. This year, various activities were held at the school to collect funds, and a march was held on Wednesday with the hopes of receiving more donations.
Trojan Trek Committee member Daia Lennox says fundraising has been more difficult the last few years, “With the pandemic, you can’t go door to door anymore. You were there with a bucket, and people would just give you all their change, but now we have an online link for it.”
The public is encouraged to make a donation by Thursday night.
