Sydney, Nova Scotia Chosen As Kraft Hockeyville For 2022

Kraft Hockeyville was awarded to a community on the East Coast again this year.

NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman made the announcement over the weekend, that Sydney, Nova Scotia had been chosen from the four finalists.

They’ll receive $250, 000 in arena upgrades to its Canada Games Complex, which was built 35 years ago, but it has been recently closed to hockey.

They’ll also have the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game.

Kraft Hockeyville has provided more than $4.1 million to 89 communities across the country over the past 16 years.

It has also hosted 13 NHL games in eight provinces.

Last year’s winner was Elsipogtog First Nation.
