Diesel and furnace oil prices jumped overnight in New Brunswick — just one day after a major drop.
The New Brunswick Energy and Utilities Board invoked its interrupter clause at midnight on Thursday night.
The new maximum price for diesel is more than $2.03 per litre, an increase of nearly 10 cents. Most local gas stations are selling it for a few cents less.
Furnace oil prices increased by a similar amount to a new maximum of over $1.82 per litre.
Gasoline and propane prices were not affected by the change. The maximum price for regular self-serve remains at $1.728 per litre.
On Wednesday night — when prices are usually reset for the week — diesel prices dropped by 16 cents while the price for furnace oil fell by almost 15 cents.
