Snow Clearing Efforts Continue In Moncton

More snow fell across Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick yesterday.

We received 13.2 centimetres of snow, and 6.1 millimetres of rain according to measurements at the Greater Moncton International Airport.

Mixed with mild temperatures that caused melting of snowbanks, this has left a lot of water on roadways.

Some roads are slick this morning so motorists are advised to slow down.

The City of Moncton is continuing its efforts to get caught up with snow clearing.

Plan for the next 24 hours:

  • Sidewalk clearing
    • Restart of the Priority 1 sidewalks due to today’s snow accumulation
  • Street clearing
    • Scraping today’s snow accumulation
  • Street widening
    • Completing Elmwood Dr., Shediac Rd. and Mountain Rd.
    • West Main Street and Vaughn Harvey Blvd. intersection
    • Hildegard St., Mapleton Rd., Plaza Blvd. and Trinity Ave.
    • Residential street widening:
      • Frampton Lane area between Gorge Rd, Mountain Rd and Mapleton Rd
      • Salisbury Rd subdivision areas
      • St. George St., High St., and Mountain Rd./King St. area
      • Mountain Rd., Université Ave., Wheeler Blvd., Connaught Ave, and Moncton Hospital area.
