RCMP have arrested the two suspects wanted in connection to a number of purse snatchings in Greater Moncton.
Mounties say they arrested the suspects on Friday following a tip from the public. They were each charged with one count of theft under $5,000 and were remanded into custody pending a future court appearance.
A news release issued last week sought the public’s assistance after police received over 10 reports of purses being taken, mostly in grocery and convenience stores.
In most instances, one individual distracted a customer while the other individual stole the purse or wallet out of their shopping cart.
The RCMP thanked the public for their assistance and said the investigation is ongoing.
