Child Dies In Crash Near Rexton

A child from Elsipogtog First Nation has died following a crash near Rexton.

RCMP say the collision happened Wednesday afternoon on Route 134 in Galloway.

It’s believed the driver of a northbound SUV lost control and crossed the centreline, then collided with a southbound pickup truck.

A 27-year-old woman and a six-year-old child were rushed to hospital with serious injuries, but the child died a short time later.

The driver of the pick-up, a 60 year old man was also taken to hospital with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
