Riverview Mayor Spreads Christmas Cheer Through Music

The Mayor for the Town of Riverview is using his musical talents to help bring joy this holiday season.

Andrew Leblanc says he has recently been referred to as Mayor Christmas.

Last year, he entertained on social media using toy instruments. This year, he is getting his family and friends more involved, “Twelve days of Christmas carols. We are going to do a different one each day. I have, my daughter has done some with me and I’ve worked with a couple of different community groups and some friends to do a few, just to get other people engaged.”

Leblanc says he is just trying to spread holiday joy, “Trying to spread as much Christmas cheer as we can. Just brighten peoples days during the holidays. It can be a stressful time for some people and any little thing we can do to support each other and to make somebody smile is a great thing.”

As for the songs Leblanc has chosen to sing, he had a little help from his daughter, “The ones I have been doing with my daughter, I want them to be fairly easy ones that she really likes. It’s really great to see her get into the Christmas spirit to and have a lot of fun with it.”

Leblanc would love for this to become an annual tradition, “I am getting a lot of support and suggestions, so the 12 days of Christmas could turn into 13 or 14, we’ll see how it goes.”

You can tune into Leblanc’s daily videos on his Facebook page.
