Infrastructure costs for a development in the Harrisville Boulevard area will fall on the developer
Moncton City Council approved an unbudgeted Optional Services contract with Watson and Associates for the creation of a new Development Charge area.
A first of its kind for New Brunswick, the development charge area will see costs such as sewage services and sidewalk construction come from the pockets of the developer rather than the taxpayers.
Situated between Marriott Drive and Warner Street, phase one of the development plans for 37 townhouses.
A second access point for the neighbourhood must be created, connecting Warner and Marriott, said City Staff.
The matter must come before a public meeting to be ratified.
