A man and woman from Moncton have been arrested following a traffic stop on Elmwood Drive.
On November 11 around 10:30 p.m., Codiac RCMP stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation and later found it was displaying a stolen license plate.
The driver, a 34-year-old woman, was arrested without incident.
Inside the vehicle, officers found a prohibited firearm, a can of bear mace, a knife and another stolen licence plate.
A 25-year-old man, a passenger in the vehicle, was also arrested.
Joey LeBlanc appeared in Moncton Provincial Court by way of tele-remand on November 12 and was charged with:
- Three counts of possession of a weapon for a purpose dangerous to the public peace
- Two counts of failure to comply with a probation order
- Possession of a firearm
- Careless storage of a firearm
- Possession of stolen property
He was remanded into custody and is awaiting a bail hearing.
The 34-year-old woman was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court at a later date.
