Woman Fined After Excessive Speeding With Young Child

Excessive speeding and other offences have landed a Caraquet woman in hot water.

RCMP say on Friday, they stopped a woman on Route 160 in Saint-Saveur, driving 151 kilometres an hour in an 80km/h zone.

Officers say there was also a young child in the vehicle at the time.

Upon further investigation, RCMP also discovered the woman had a suspended license and a warrant for arrest on an unrelated matter.

The woman was arrested at the scene and later appeared in Miramichi court. She was also issued a speeding ticket for $604.50.
