A Kent County man has been charged with uttering threats after an incident in Coal Branch.
Last Sunday afternoon (October 17), Richibucto RCMP were called to a disturbance on Route 126 after a man had made firearms-related threats to two adults in a home.
Police say the adults fled the home with a three-year-old child.
The man left in a vehicle with a one-year-old child but later returned to the house.
Officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the house.
Caledonia RCMP and the police dog were also brought in to assist.
An RCMP member made contact with the man and convinced him to surrender without incident.
The child was found safe inside the house.
Nine firearms were seized as part of the investigation.
David Berube, 24, of Coal Branch remains in custody and will return to court on Thursday.
