Sackville Memorial Hospital’s Emergency Department will temporarily close overnight due to a shortage of nurses.
The facility will close at 7 p.m. tonight and reopen on Wednesday at 8 a.m., according to a Horizon Health Network news release issued on Tuesday afternoon.
As a result, patients that require medical treatment are asked to go to another facility, and ambulances will be diverted to other hospitals.
Horizon advises those experiencing a medical emergency to call 911.
A shortage of nurses at the Sackville Memorial Hospital is not uncommon. In June, the Sackville ER began recurring closures on the weekend, citing New Brunswick’s ongoing nursing shortage as the cause.
