Shooting Incident In West River Leads To Charges

Charges have now been laid against a Moncton man in connection with a shooting incident near Alma.

RCMP responded on Monday night after shots were fired at an unoccupied vehicle outside a home on Route 114 in West River.

Police located a speeding pickup truck heading towards Moncton on Route 114. A spike belt was used to stop the vehicle and two men fled on foot.

A perimeter was set up and 34-year-old Brandon Brian Liebeck was arrested at the scene. A 32-year-old man from Riverview turned himself into police later the same day.

Liebeck is facing several charges including discharging a firearm while being reckless. He is scheduled to appear in court again tomorrow afternoon.

The 32-year-old man is being held in custody on unrelated matters.
