Riverview’s Mayor-elect says it has been very busy since municipal election results were released on May 25.
Andrew Leblanc has already reached out to the future members of Town Council.
He is looking forward to the next couple of weeks, “Really excited to get ready for the fourteenth for the Oath of Office and then hit the ground running as the new Council.”
He hasn’t officially taken his oath yet, but work making connections and communications has already begun.
“I’ve started reaching out to some community groups. I’ve touched base with some of the school Principals and I’ve had a chance to talk to some of my other colleagues in other municipalities and the Mayors there and we’ve had some really good conversations on how we can work together and building some of those relations ships as well.”
Leblanc will be new in Riverview’s Mayoral Chair, but he is familiar with sitting around the the Council table. he was first elected in 2012 as a Councillor-at-Large, and was named Deputy Mayor in May last year.
Riverview Town Council will be sworn in at 7 o’clock on June 14th. Residents can watch live on the Town website.
Meantime, newly elected members of Dieppe City Council will be sworn in the same day, prior to their Council meeting.
Moncton City Council members will take their Oath on June 7th at 5 o’clock.
