A major fundraising campaign has been launched in the community of Cap-Pele to help create an intergenerational community centre.

The project valued is at $12 million and will include the addition of changing rooms, a social lounge, a multipurpose room, meeting rooms, a walking track and a training room.

The fundraising goal is set at $3.2 million.

Committee Co-Chair Jimmy Dubroy says,”The communities, the business people and the population support us 100% in this project. We are currently in discussions with governments concerning the funding of the intergenerational community center. Receiving funding would be optimal for the realization of this excellent project for our region. ”

Once the centre is transformed, it will serve residents from the communities of Shediac, Beaubassin-Est, Cap-Pelé and Port-Elgin.
