YMCA Moncton To Plant Trees In Free Fruit Project

The YMCA of Greater Moncton hopes to help increase food security..

Members of the Community Action Network will plant ten fruit trees along the Riverfront Trail in Riverview this month.

This initiative is called the Free Fruit Project.

The hope is it will make healthy food accessible, as well as assist the bee population and the environment.

Four trees will also be planted at local high schools.

Two of them along the walking trail at Riverview High School and the others at Armstrong High and Salisbury Middle School.

The fruit will also be used to support the school breakfast programs.
