Vitalite Reports Slight Improvement In Overflow

Vitalité Health Network is reporting a slight improvement in the overflow of patients at the Georges Dumont Hospital.

The bed occupancy rate at the facility remains at 86 per cent.

According to Dr. Desrosiers, President and CEO of the Network, work continues in both facilities to remedy the situation. “With respect to Dr. Georges-L.-Dumont UHC, the decrease in the overflow will help us progressively increase the number of surgeries in the surgical suite over the coming days,” she said.

The Network says the staff shortage, especially nurses, remains extremely concerning. They expect the arrival of a number of new registered nurses in July will provide some relief.
