Diani Blanco Looks To Provide “Fresh Breath Of Air” To Moncton’s Ward 3

An inspirational speaker, youth worker and founder of a community initiative to support single parents, now, Diani Blanco hopes to add Moncton City Councillor to her resume.

She has announced that she will be running for councillor of the city’s Ward 3.

Born in the Dominican Republic, Blanco moved to New Brunswick as a child, faced with the adversities of racism and abuse. She used her traumatic experiences to help improve the wellbeing of others, touring high schools as an inspirational speaker and enjoying a career as a youth worker with Youth Impact Jeunesse Inc.

A single mother with two sons, Blanco created the Queens of Heart organization in the early stages of the pandemic to help support single parents. She says as a member of the council, she would improve the lives of families by increasing the services available to them.

Ward 3 will feature at least one new councillor after current representative Brian Hicks announced he would not reoffer.
