Three area fire departments, Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe, responded earlier today along the Petitcodiac River.
Dieppe Fire District Chief Julien Boudreau says they received reports of someone in the water.
He says the individual was apparently spotted through a webcam.
Firefighters responded and searched the banks for around 45 minutes, but nothing was found.
Boudreau says they viewed the video and it appeared to be a branch or other debris in the water.
