The cause of a fire near Amherst which destroyed several vehicles including antique cars is under investigation.
Amherst deputy fire chief Brian Farrow said a large garage was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 5 p.m. Wednesday at Highway 6 and John Black Road.
Farrow said the older tin-clad building with vehicles inside made it a challenging fire given the number of small explosions.
A large cloud of black smoke could be seen from kilometres away.
Water had to be shuttled in since the fire was just outside Amherst town limits and there were no hydrants nearby.
The Sackville Fire Department was one of several departments called in to help.
Farrow said the building is a total loss but no one was hurt.
