New Larger Home For The Candy Depot

A store that offers current and retro candy in Moncton, is on the move.

The Candy Depot recently relocated just up the road from 824 to 1144 Mountain Road.

Owner Stephane Leblanc says they opened in September 2019, but it was time to expand, “We have been growing steadily since we opened. We saw the opportunity to move to a newer, better, bigger location, with better parking and better access so we made the move on that. The store itself is around the same size, but we have a 5000 square foot warehouse that comes with it. That is going to allow us to have more stock, more inventory and better shipping right across the country.”

Leblanc says when the pandemic began, and they were forced to close, they began offering online shopping, and business is booming.

He says the pandemic certainly hasn’t deterred the love for sweets, “I think it is just a comfort food. People like trying new things, things they don’t necessarily see everyday or can’t get at your average store. I think the wide variety brings people in. They get a favourite item and then they keep coming back for it, or they keep coming in to try something new.”

One of their more popular items right now, are the Slime Lickers which have been featured on Tik Tok.

“We have lots of imported candy from the US, some from Europe, Japan, etc. Many good old favourites that people don’t see on a regular basis,” Leblanc says.

The Candy Depot officially opened at its new location on January 30th.
