Canadian Parents For French NB Names New Executive Director

A former MLA and Moncton City Councillor has joined the group Canadian Parents for French New Brunswick.

Chris Collins will now serve in the role of Executive Director for the organization.

He was named to the role as of October 3rd.

Collins fills a vacancy left by Helene Pelletier, who was with the organization for more than 15 years.

Canadian Parents for French New Brunswick is a volunteer organization that recognizes French as a second language and promotes ways for young Canadians to learn and use the language.

“I look forward to working with CPF NB, our partners, and our stakeholders to improve opportunities for students to learn and use French, something that was important for me as an
adult, not having the successful French Immersion program we know today in New Brunswick,” says Chris Collins. “The mission and values of CPF NB are more important now than
ever before in New Brunswick, given the importance of bilingualism to our province’s culture, society, economy, and unique linguistic duality”.
