Messy Storm Rolls Into NB

It is going to be a messy day for travel.

That snowfall warning remains in effect for Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick.

Most students in the province are getting their first snow day of the year, with closures including Anglophone East, Francophone South, and Anglophone North.

A full list of cancellations and closures can be found here.

Environment Canada Meteorologist Spencer Clements says the day will start with snow, with up to 25 centimetres expected.

He adds that winds could gust up to 60 kilometres an hour this afternoon, which will mean blowing snow.

Clements says the snow will changeover to ice pellets and freezing rain later this afternoon and as the temperatures rise, to rain overnight.

We could get up to 25 millimetres of rain by the time it wraps up on Wednesday morning.

If you are planning on going anywhere today, you will want to give yourself lots of extra time.
