Fire destroys farmhouse in Harewood, N.B.

A two-storey farmhouse on Route 112 near Havelock has been destroyed by fire.

Havelock Fire Chief Anthony Demont says he was the first to arrive in Harewood at around 3:30 a.m. Monday.

He says the home was almost fully engulfed.

Demont says it took several hours to get the fire under control due to strong winds.

Petitcodiac and Salisbury Fire assisted with battling the blaze.

No one was home when the fire broke out.

There’s no word on a cause yet.
