YMCA of Greater Moncton finalist in Canada-wide contest

The YMCA of Greater Moncton has a chance to win $100,000 that will go towards preventing and diverting homelessness through their ReConnect Program. These funds will enhance their streets and encampment outreach services, enabling them to provide immediate assistance such as food, clothing, hygiene products and harm reduction supplies.

Sr. Director Community Outreach, Shannon Barry says the organization is excited for the opportunity, “We’re crossing our fingers and doing a dance and reaching out to our community partners as much as we can.”

Barry is asking supporters to cast their vote before November 27. You can click here to vote

The YMCA of Greater Moncton is up against Qajuqturvik Community Food Centre and the Easter Seals Nova Scotia for the top prize of $100,000. The YMCA is assured of winning $10,000 as a finalist.

The Director of Community Outreach adds, “I think Greater Moncton can see that that amount of money would have a great impact on our community”.

The philanthropic contest is being organized by iA Financial Group.
