Cheer Cards For Veterans This Holiday Season

If you are still distributing cards for the holidays, why not consider one for a veteran as well?

Parliamentary Secretary for Veterans Affairs Darrell Samson says a cheer card can help to brighten their day, “A lot of them are older and would love to hear from people. It is also an opportunity to thank them for their service.”

Cards can be dropped off or mailed out to arrive for the New year, “You could send cards directly to any long term care homes in your region, or you can send it to your local legion, a Royal Canadian legion branch in your community. You can also send it directly to the Canadian Forces,” Samson says.

He adds there are active members who are away from their families over the holiday season and this would be a way to communicate with them.
