Request in Riverview for crosswalk honouring veterans in 2025

A request for a crosswalk to honour veterans for Remembrance Day 2025 in Riverview, was made to Town Council on Tuesday night.

Mayor Andrew Leblanc passed the suggestion on to Town Staff.

“We had a request from the Veterans Association to see if we could look into maybe doing one of the crosswalks with the ‘Lest we forget’ and a silhouette of a veteran. If we have a side street, maybe the crosswalk that goes up to Runnymede, where it used to be the Navy base. If that’s something that maybe the town could consider for next year for Remembrance Day.”

Several Canadian communities painted the crosswalks this year, including Charlottetown, PEI and Amherst, Nova Scotia.

Leblanc is expected to follow up on the request at a future date.
