Help “Fill The Bus” For The Food Depot Alimentaire

An annual tradition for the Anglophone East School District, has been forced to make some adjustments in a pandemic.

Co-Organizer for the Fill the Bus Campaign Aubrey Kirkpatrick says collecting non-perishable food items this year is more difficult due to COVID-19 restrictions.

“Normally we collect something close to 30,000 pounds of food, and that would amount to roughly around $70, 000 worth of food. I guess we are going to try to do that virtually.”

In order to do that online, they have to collect monetary donations instead.

Aubrey says, “So we’re going to try to fill the bus with cash. This is for the Food Depot Alimentaire and for school breakfast programs and for other programs.”

You can donate on the district webpage, People can donate by going to the District webpage, “There is a banner there, a Fill the bus banner. The schools have a bit of a competition to see who can donate the most. You can also donate directly to the school of your choice. We are tracking totals as they go,” Aubrey says.

The Fill the Bus campaign wraps up on December 18th.
