PEI Making Masks Mandatory

Masks will soon be mandatory in all indoor public spaces on Prince Edward Island.

Chief Medical officer of Health Dr. Heather Morrison announced the new directive earlier today.

“While many Islanders are wearing masks faithfully, we can collectively do a better job. Effective Friday, November 20, 12:01am, non medical masks or face coverings will be mandatory in indoor public spaces in Prince Edward Island,” Dr. Morrison says.

PEI currently has three active cases of COVID-19.

“People should continue to use their two layer masks. Although the recent guidance from the Public Health Agency recommends three layer masks. As we replace out masks, we can purchase the three layer masks,” Dr. Morrison adds.
