New Brunswicker Hopes For A Deal With a Dragon

A New Brunswick Entrepreneur will pitch to the dragon’s tonight.

Twenty-eight-year-old Sawyer Hannay owns Country Liberty and Liberty Village.

‘We started out as a clothing business and recently evolved into a cabin rental resort business as well, basically because we represent the rural outdoor type Canadian and we wanted a physical location where people could come and experience the Country Liberty lifestyle as well.”

He hoped appearing on the Dragons Den would mean an investment in his business that offers outdoor clothing and lifestyle.

“Always been a goal of mine to make it on that show. It always seemed a little far fetched, I’ll be honest because there are so many wonderful businesses. Just before COVID I just ended up driving to Saint John, kind of impulsively, and then I ended up pitching to the Dragons,” Hannay says.

Hannay already knows the outcome, but he is sworn to secrecy.

“I’ve done research on each of the Dragons, their businesses history and just what types of people they are and what types of things they are interested in. So I quickly realised that each and every dragon had tons of things that I felt aligned with, So I knew going in that any of the dragons would be a great choice for me,” Hannay says.

New Brunswickers can watch the Dragon’s Den Thursday night to see if the Rexton area resident gets a deal or not.

“I’m a combination of both very excited, but also, I am a little nervous. It is very vulnerable to be on the show, and you are sharing a part of your self. You are pitching your heart out and you are sharing a lot of private information. But this is a great opportunity to build our Country Liberty community,” Hannay says.
