Charges laid in connection with house fire in Elsipogtog

An arrest in connection with arson and mischief in Elsipogtog.

On October 23, a loud bang alerted police, who discovered the Elsipogtog detachment and an unmarked police vehicle had been vandalized.

The same night, they were alerted of a residence on Levi Street that was on fire.

A 29-year-old Elsipogtog First Nation man was arrested and is now facing charges of arson, mischief and failing to comply with a release order.

He remains in custody with another court date on November 8th.
