Uptick in travellers at Greater Moncton International Airport in 2024

Record-breaking passenger numbers for the summer months at the Greater Moncton Roméo Leblanc International Airport.

From June to August, 210,663 passengers travelled through YQM.

From January to September, the total number of passengers was 521,630, more than pre-COVID levels in 2019. This reflects a notable increase of 10.7 per cent, or 50,532 additional passengers compared with last year.

International cargo flights are also expected to be up for 2024. The airport handled 30 international cargo flights as of the end of September, compared to 33 for all of 2023.

YQM is gearing up for another winter sun destination schedule, with Air Transat and Sunwing set to offer a total of 12 direct flights to sun-soaked destinations, including Jamaica, Punta Cana, Puerto Plata, Varadero, Cancun, and Orlando. That will start in February.

Air Transat will begin services to Cancun on Dec. 19 and to Orlando on Dec. 20.
