Donation Helps Purchase Cancer Diagnosing Equipment For Moncton Hospital

A large donation from the NB Doctors Cycling against cancer ride, is helping to purchase ground breaking technology for the Moncton Hospital.

A record setting $100, 000 was raised in the ride this year.

It will be used to help purchase an advanced digital slide scanner, which will allows Pathologists an easier way to detect cancer.

This $235,000 piece of equipment will mean doctors will receive results quicker.

Dr. Snowdon says a faster turn-around time is critical to expedite a patient’s treatment, improve patient care and potentially save lives.

TMH sends out about 300 consultations per year.

Moncton Hospital will be the first to acquire this type of equipment.
