Ride for Refuge to support survivors of domestic violence

A first-time event for Crossroads for Women.

They’re hosting a Ride for Refuge on Saturday, Oct. 5.

Participants choose a 2.5 or 5-kilometre walk or a 10 or 20-kilometre cycling event.

Spokesperson Jaime Olsen says all the money raised supports their services.

“It will go back into our Transition House, which has 21 beds to support women and children who are survivors of domestic violence,” Olsen says.

The event will be held starting at 10 a.m. at the Gorge Road entrance of Mapleton Park.

You can sign up online at the Ride for Refuge website.

The goal is to raise $20,000 this year.
