Historic Theatre In Chatham Gutted By Fire

A piece of history in the community of Chatham was destroyed by fire over the weekend.

A fire broke out early Sunday morning in a building next to the Vogue Theatre, but it quickly spread.

Miramichi Fire, along with the help of other crews fought the blaze in very warm temperatures for around 12 hours.

Videos on Facebook showed thick black smoke pouring from the buildings.

Several buildings were destroyed.

There’s no word on a cause yet.
