911 Tapes Played At Second Degree Murder Trial Of Saint John Man

Chilling 911 tapes in which Joseph Paul Irving says he “lost it” during an argument and choked his wife until she couldn’t breathe being played at the trial of the Saint John man.

The 53-year-old has pleaded not guilty to second degree murder in the death of his wife. The jury hearing that when Cynthia Irving announced she was leaving her husband when he attacked her.

In the 911 call Irving also describing how he is schizophrenic and off his meds.

According to police testimony Irving was calm, not agitated and showed no remorse as he escorted officers into his home.

10 days have been set aside for this trial but Mr. Justice William Grant warns it could go longer than that.
