Albert MLA Excited For Atlantic Bubble

A lot of families are eager for the Atlantic Bubble on July 3rd.

Albert MLA Mike Holland is one of them, “The closure of the border separated myself from my girlfriend who lives in the Wallace area of Nova Scotia. We saw each on February 23rd, and that’s the last time we saw each other.”

He says they’ve communicated on the phone regularly and online, “We’ve been able to chat via Facebook live and Zoom and House Party App. But there’s no substitute for actually getting to see each other.”

Being a politician, Holland says he was hearing first hand about the concerns when cases of COVID-19 began being diagnosed in the province. But, he still wasn’t prepared for February when the borders closed.

“When I finally realised that I was going to have to be apart from my loved one, it was really difficult. At that point, we figured it might even be September before we saw each other again.”

Holland says at least now, they have July 3rd to look forward to, “I’ve already informed my colleagues and constituents that on July 3rd, until a few days after that, I would certainly appreciate if they could hold all of their concerns. I’m planning on heading to Nova Scotia.”

The four Atlantic Premiers announced on Wednesday, that the four provinces would form an Atlantic bubble. That will enable residents in those provinces to travel without having to self-isolate, unless they’ve been advised to do so.

They also won’t be permitted in if they are waiting for COVID-19 test results or if they have symptoms of the virus.
