Over Usage Of Water In Riverview Could Result In Fines

The Town of Riverview is limiting the use of non-essential water usage, due to the high levels being consumed.

They say if this continues, the community is in danger of many of its residents losing the use of their water.

A resolution was passed by Town Council yesterday that states watering lawns or gardens, washing vehicles, and using sprinklers should only be done before 8am or after 6pm, and for not more than an hour at a time. Other outdoor activities requiring water also fall under the same rules.

Residents can also report over usage of water by calling the By-Law Enforcement Office.

Those not complying with the resolution could face fines of between $200 and $1070.
