Riverview Grads To Be Celebrated With Parade

The streets of Riverview will be filled with high school graduates on Wednesday night.

The Town approved a parade, planned by parents, to recognize the students as they leave Riverview High School.

Faith Langille is one of the graduates. She says they are asking for everyone’s support along the route.

“The grads will lineup in their cars at the Riverview Mall. We’re going to drive down Coverdale Road to Buckingham and then White Pine to Trites and then back to the Riverview Mall. They are asking anyone to come out on the route to celebrate along here with us, and decorate your houses.”

The parade will get underway at 7 o’clock. In an effort to ensure physical distancing, the graduates will remain in their cars.

Langille says COVID-19 has certainly made this a graduating year to remember, “It’s a lot different than what anyone else is ever going to go through. So, there definitely will be stories to tell.”

It has been a challenging few months, so she hopes everyone will offer support as they send the graduating students off.

“I know a lot of people were stressed out about trying to get school work done without having a teacher in front of you to help. The teachers were great, answering their emails right away and everything. A lot of us were stressed out just trying to get everything done.”

The Town of Riverview has also produced a video to Congratulate for all of the students.
