Teen Facing Charges Connected To Child Pornography

A 15-year-old boy is facing charges in connection with the sharing of sexual images of minors.

RCMP launched an investigation in November after receiving several complaints of girls under the age of 14, being intimidated to sending nude photos through social media.

Officers searched two homes on the Acadian Peninsula in May and several electronic devices were seized.

A teen was arrested at the scene. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in October to face charges connected to luring, possession and distribution of child pornography.

RCMP have identified several victims from New Brunswick.

Police says additional resources for talking to your kids about being safe online, are available through the Canadian Centre for Child Protection.
