Grande-Digue Man Facing Several Charges

A 53-year-old Grande-Digue man is facing multiple charges after a search warrant was executed at his home.

Threats were allegedly made to Public Safety officers who were conducting a check at a home in Grande-Digue, where an individual was required to self-isolate due to recent travel outside of the province.

On Monday, Ronald Paul Joseph Breau was charged in court and the following day, Shediac RCMP executed a search of the home as part of an on-going investigation into the allegation.

Three long guns were seized along with ammunition and a man was arrested in a vehicle a few kilometres from the scene.

Yesterday, Breau appeared in court again for a bail hearing and was charged with assaulting a peace officer, unsafe storage of a firearm and disobeying the Emergency Measures Act.

He is in custody and is scheduled to appear in Moncton Provincial Court on next Monday.
