Shediac RCMP Seek Information On Pair Of Suspicious Fires

The Shediac RCMP is investigating two suspicious structure fires, in Cormier Village and Saint-André-Leblanc, which police believe could be connected.

Shortly before midnight on May 26th, the RCMP along with members of the Beaubassin-East Fire Department responded to a call of a vacant seasonal home fire in Cormier Village.

Just after 1 a.m. the following morning, they responded to an abandoned house on fire near Route 495 in Saint-André-Leblanc.

The investigation determined both fires to be suspicious and police believe they could have been started by the same suspect or suspects.

The RCMP and the Provincial Fire Marshal’s office are continuing to investigate to determine the cause of the fire.

Anyone with information who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed suspicious activity, is asked to contact the RCMP or Crime Stoppers.
