Education Minister Says New Brunswickers Are Heroes In COVID-19 Pandemic

As New Brunswick slowly reopens the province, some are giving credit to those who helped contribute to the low number of COVID-19 cases.

Fredericton MP Jenica Atwin recently credited Education Minister recently for the decision to quick action to close schools. She is one of many to do so.

Dominic Cardy says he was just doing his job, “The people who are heroes in this are the New Brunswickers who have taken social distancing and other measures onboard and the healthcare workers and others who lives impacted by this.”

Cardy says New Brunswickers made the decision that the virus was a threat and a risk.

“In the end, they wanted to protect themselves and their community and they took the steps needed,” Cardy says.

The Education Minister made the decision to close schools in mid-March, when New Brunswick had around ten cases of the virus.
